Published comment: Il Faggeto is a well-maintained, isolated lodge but a few miles to Castellina. It is not a hustle and bustle place but a private oasis perfect for a family with kids and with room for company. This was truly a taste of Tuscan country living. Think Adirondacks when you think of Faggeto but envision olive trees and grape vines. Don't be surprise to hear the snort of the wild boar in the distance...don't worry...they scatter at the first sound make. It isn't far from Florence or Siena but if you make this your choice, you might not want to see naked statues or endure the city traffic. Have Filipo give you the tour of his modest winery and olive oil plant and absolutely make sure that Marta, his partner, comes to cook. Unforgettable.
