This fascinating and beautifully restored country house is one of the properties we have been renting successfully over the past 25 years. It is a XVI century farmhouse converted in the seventies into an elegant country house with careful use of the original materials in order to preserve his authentic taste. The property is set in a secluded hillside position inside a large and incontaminated procected area in the heart of the Chianti region, but very close to the town of Castellina in Chianti. Surrounded by lawns and very well landscaped gardens, it enjoys glorious view over the nearby valley and rolling hillsides covered by olive groves and vineyards. The large house has been elegantly furnished with impressive antiques and offer to his guests a refined and muffle atmosphere with several common areas, such as the large traditional style kitchen, different living rooms, and in a separate building next to the pool, a billiard and two bridge tables. Also the internal courtyard with an old wood oven (dating 1730) offers to the guests an ideal dining area where to seat all together as in a “piazzetta” of a small hamlet. Across the wide lawn in front of the house (which is perfect to let children play under parent’s control) , the unusually long stone-swimming pool shows the respect of the environment adapting its shape to save an old olive tree. The owner, descendent of an old aristocratic family, lives with his young family in the adjacent house, managing with passion the vineyard and the production of Chianti Classico DOCG and the olive trees producing top-quality olive oil. He will be more than happy to welcome his guests and to share with them his love for this house and the Tuscan life-style.
